Wow I am glad that I am not at home the snow does not sound like a lot of fun and watching other people work mom is always boring no matter what they are doing. Especially if they are just looking at plants. And dad your going to need a lot more blessing before you get a razor if I were you I would just get a new bike or 4 wheeler. Thats really funny that missionaries went to Tims house that was nice of him to let them in im sure that they liked it but tell him next time that he should give them food and then they will like him more. I would but I am not supposed to accept food from anyone except sometimes the people get mad at me when I dont so I take it and pray as hard as I can that I dont get a disease. Im glad that you found the blog it is cool and dont worry I will keep writing you and everything. I dont know if I have said this before but I want to say it now All of the packages that I get have to be worth less than 100 dollars or they will charge me 40% for customs so mom I was thinking instead of sending stuff unless you really want you might just save money and just put money in my account everyone else and you too mom can send me packages anytime they want. Ok sorry mom I bought a recorder That was the 42 dollar charge that I got sorry that it messed up my account and that it is such a hassle for you but thank you for taking care of it for me. Im not even home and I am still a pain. I was hoping that kevin would get a deer and I am sad that he did not that would be cool. I liked the article on him and that line about his ruggedly good looks is hilarous I would totally make fun of him if I was home. Ha that makes me laugh. So the blog is Turks in Trujillo just put that in the search bar and you should find it. It has pictures of when we got there and stuff it is cool. Thats awesome that you got to see mark and melissa I bet that was fun I hope they are doing well tell them I say hi. And yes they do celebrate halloween here and other stuff that I do not understand. I cannot wait to see what it is like I bet it will be weird. Ya we watched conference the same time that you did I was still in the MTC then so it was not a problem it was so cool and I had a similar experience as Pres. Monsons this week our hot water got fixed so we could have a warm shower but then it did not work and this may sound funny but I prayed so hard that I could have a warm shower and the next day it worked it was so nice and now I do not take the warm water for granted it is definately a blessing and makes my mornings better. Thank you so much for your prayers for me they are definately being answered everyday I can feel the lord guiding me in my work this is the best thing ever thank you so much for asking me to come mom and dad I love you guys.

Second Week
Dear Family,
Happy Birthday Mom and Kevin I hope that they were good for both of you. It sounds like moms was fun. Im jealous that you guys get to go hunting that sounds like a lot of fun. And just to let you know mom I try not to email melissa back because I am supposed to write her letters so she would like to get the emails and im sure that her mom would too. So this week we had our first baptism it was really cool. He was someone that my companion and his old companion found but I got to ask him to be baptized the first day and he said yes so we did it this last saturday. O ya my hands are fine they are only dry because i forget to put lotion on. I think that the language is starting to get to me though because I con only uinderstand about half of the things being said in the lesson so it is hard to connect things. And my companion made me promise not to speak english today to the other americans so that I can learn more spanish and that is really hard. I feel like I have not learned anything the last few weeks and am maybe getting worse. I am just waiting for the day that everyone says that you wake up and know spanish but I know that will not happen for a few months so for now I am just trying to keep my head above water. I have to wear my glasses now for about a week because I got an eye infection Sister Turk said that she might put the picture of my eye on the mission blog so maybe you can see it if you can find it. I dont know where it is but other people have found it so it cannot be to hard. But to get it fixed we had to go the the clinic and wait fot 3 hours before I even saw the doctor it was kinda boring but I got to be with a zone leader and see what it will be like when I know spanish and he gave me some ideas to learn spanish. Im trying to think about what else happened... we got to be in a talent show that was fun and weird to watch what the other people did. It was mostly just a bunch of weird sketches. This week i am thinking about buying a recorder so I can just talk into it and then email mail messages instead of writing emails so I can say everything I want to. So if you could check my account mom I would really appreciate it. So this week had a lot of ups and downs and I had a big downer of an experience this morning so sorry if this email seems gloomy. I am doing well and I know that you guys are praying for me and I thank you for your prayers. I pray for you guys too and wish you luck hunting. I love you all.

Wow it sounds like you guys are having a lot going on that is good because so am I. I have to admit mom I read melissas emails before the families so i knew that she was going to Boliva befre you ruined it. And I cannot be more excited my first comp was from Boliva (in the ccm in Peru) and all the other people that I have met from there are awesome so she is really lucky. Its weird to hear that things are getting colder for you guys because i still think that it is summer and things are getting hotter for us here. And im glad that it has not hurt your garden yet. Thats not good that you have a bunch of worms though. And that is so great that you are getting names done in the temple. You are doing missionary work for the dead while i get to do it for the living that is awesome. So it really is not that humid where i am at. To start off they sent me to Trujillo on monday and then on tuesday they sent me to a different place about 2 1/2 hours south called Chimbote. I got my new comp and he is from Chile and is way cool. The city is on the coast but it is seriously more deserty than nevada. The people are really poor and are hard to understand but i actually do understand some stuff which is crazy. This sucks but i have to go and i will try to tell you more next time Love you guys you are in my prayers, and i am not dead. Thank you for your prayers.

I am here in Trujillo. We got here at about 9:00pm yesterday, all is well. Last night the missionaries, and President and Sister Turk picked us up from the Airport. Then we had dinner and rested in the hotel, today we have a bunch of trainings and I will meet my trainer later this afternoon. I am tired, but fantastic!!!

Dear People that read that read this,
The weather has gotten so much better and we have been seeing the sun for the last couple of days. I got to leave the MTC on Monday so that will be so awesome. We are going to be the first group of elders leaving this time and I cannot wait. This week has been not too bad but it went by really fast. On saturday they let us out for the third time and it was the first time for my new companion. I was sad though because it was not at all as good as the last two times that I have gone. We knocked on every door in our area and noone answered or they told us that they did not want us to be there. These were less active people so it was kinda sad. Then we tried to contact and it went pretty bad. But I was happy to hear that others had a really good day so that makes up for what I did. Then today we had a good day we had to go to interpol which was a drag and then we had to wait for the car to take us back and we had an hour so we convinced the lady that we should get some candy. And that took us a while but was worth it. Then on the way home we used our smooth words to convince the driver to take us to Mcdonalds it was awesome and everyone is so jealous because they didnt get any. Then we got to go to the temple like every week and that was so great I love to go to the temple. It was sad though because i know that I wont be able to go for another 22 months unless they finish the Trujillo temple before I leave. They just broke the ground a few weeks ago. I also had a cool experience on the way to the temple today. I sat next to this guy and we just started talking and he was wondering what i was doing so I told him why I was here and he was really interested but then we had to get off the bus because we were at the temple but I gave him a card and I know he felt something because he was so nice when I left. Im really happy when stuff like that happenes and I cannot wait to be doing that all day. I was going to send you guys some pictures because I got my hair cut and it looks like kevins it is weird to have no hair I know this is the shortest it has ever been. I cannot think of anything else. Iove you guys and hope all is well.

Dont worry I got your letter that is so cool that you got to talk to melissa and that she got the flowers i was going to ask her but now i dont have to. It sounds like you guys had a great talk that is so cool. Did you send out the stuff for her? I didnt even know that she is volunteering at schools or anything that is way cool. that would be cool if you use the picture with my native comp. dont worry about forgetting about carters b day i forget about them all the time except for melissas. That is really crazy what happened at the air show i hope Kevin is getting some sleep that he needs. That is so cool that everything is going so well on the farm and prices are so high that kinda makes me wish i could have bought some before i left but i know that i will be fine. The weather is getting better heere too and we have been seeing the sun more and that makes me happy. We didnt get to leave and go out of the ccm this week and i want to go bad. We got a new district and it is pretty good i miss some people from my last district but we are going to trujillo together so it is ok. That is cool that you get to go to the temple and have time for other things now we got to go today it is one of my favorite parts of my week. Last wednesday we got to take a tour of lima it was awesome we got to see the ocean and some cool spots downtown. I saw some surfers and thought of kevin maybe when i come home we will have to make a trip to lima or trujillo for some sweet surfing.

Dear Mom,
That sounds like a pretty cool weekend and that you got to listen to some really cool talks in stake conference. I got to have another cool weekend as well. We got to go out and do regular missionary work this saturday it was so awesome. We just went out and started contacting and knocking on doors like I will be in the field every day. We had a missionary from one of the Lima missions lead us around he was such a great example of a missionary. He always made me talk in every lesson and to the people that we were contacting. Our area had to be one of the hardest ones that they threw us new guys into, it was seriously on the side of a mountain and we hiked all the way to the top house just to teach people and it was worth it we gave out all of our books of mormon that we were given to give to people and all of our pass along cards and almost all of our pamphlets on church principles. So we had a lot of success but my companion and I did not reach any of our goals so we were kinda sad until we got back and saw how everyone else did we might have had the most success out of all the people from the mtc we got into more houses and contacted more and taught more lessons so I was really happy about our successes. And you can tell dad that even though we walked up and down mountains that I still did not get behind the missionary that had been out for a while so i guess i already know how to walk really fast. The sad thing that happened this week is my latin companion left to go out into the field. Im going to miss the guy and I hope he does really well. I am going to attach som pictures for you to look at.

Dear Family,
I actually like to write my letters in english it reminds me how to write because sometimes I forget and spell things half in spanish and half in english. It has been a really crazy week we got to go out of the mtc this last Saturday and actually walk the streets of Lima Peru and talk to less active members. It was really crazy at first I thought that they were just going to drop us off and let us go where ever but they gave us a guide. The lessons were crazy because I could not understand the Spanish that the people were saying they were talking so fast. I did teach a little when I understood what was going on. We taught three lessons and it was really cool because it sounded like they were going to go back to church. We even got one of the ladies that did not feel worthy to go back to church cry because she was so happy. My companion did really well and it was so cool to here him preach to them. That is cool that the roof is almost done I bet things have been really busy at home and I forgot that last weekend was even a holiday for you guys. I miss elder berries and american foods now. We had spaghetti one day and hamburgers another day and they did not taste that good but everyone is just happy when it is not rice and chicken. And they don’t give me any money yet I have to wait until I get to the field so I am being frugal with my money. All of my teachers are returned missionaries so it helps they know what they are taking about and know the gospel very well. I’m sure that your lesson was fine anyway even though you didn’t read a lot of related materials you don’t need to be hard on yourself. Well tell everyone hi and that I am not dead Love you,
